I have a file with tab separated values and when I use C-s C-w, the
numbers tend to move a few spaces to the left, screwing upp what I
see. The file is not corrupted, only the dislplay, so C-l works. Still annoying.
Does it fail reproducibly? If you start a fresh Emacs, does it fail
for you again?
You sent a specific piece of text from the file,
but the commentary in that message suggests that that text
is not sufficient for reproducing the problem.
We can't debug it without a test case;
if the text you sent is not sufficient,
could you send us whatever it takes to reproduce
the problem?

The smallest fragment that reproduced it comes at the end. I wanted
my file to appear truncated at the right fringe, so I splitted the
window with C-x 3 and enlarged the left window until I only saw one of
the fringes of the right window.
How wide was the left window at this point? How wide was the right window?

It did fail reproducibly, but not with a fresh emacs. I am sorry, but I
really cannot make it fail again once I have restarted the program. Not with
the same .emacs and not with an emacs started without initfile.
I will however try to reproduce it later. It was rather annoying. Not only
the actual match bugged, but also the at least some of the other matches.
