I'm trying to set up Emacs 20.0.50.1 on Windows XP. Installation
directory is "c:\emacs". When I start Emacs, I get the following
message:
Error (initialization): User has no home directory
I already have a rudimentary .emacs at "c:\.emacs" What does Emacs
expect here?
Thanks!

An environment variable %HOME% or an entry in the registry.
