Hello

We have an HP9000 with cvs 1.11.5
We have Windows boxes with cvs 1.11.5 as clients.
We are using Emacs 21.2 / pcl-cvs front-end

We have recently changed our repository access method from
    :server:jerome@cvs.mydomain:/uranus/Repository
to
    :pserver:cvs.mydomain:/uranus/Repository

Every works fine except the display in the Emacs buffer

In the previous situation I had something like :

In directory .:
              Modified GNUmakefile
              Unknown forms
              Added test_search_n_replace.p2s
In directory common:
              Unknown common/.cvsignore
In directory dm-common:
              Unknown dm-common/.cvsignore
              Unknown dm-common/reports.log

And now, I have :

Message: -f server: Updating common
Message: -f server: Updating dm-common
Message: -f server: Updating fm-common
Message: -f server: Updating forms
              Modified GNUmakefile
              Unknown forms
              Added test_search_n_replace.p2s
              Unknown common/.cvsignore
              Unknown dm-common/.cvsignore
              Unknown dm-common/reports.log
Message: -f server: Updating .

I lost my directory subdivision !

Anything I can do ?
With cvs flags ?
Tuning pcl-cvs elisp files ?
Configuring cvs server ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Jérôme

What the...!?!?!

Could you show us the content of the " *cvs-tmp*" buffer (note the leading
space) ? It seems it will have lines like:

       -f server: Updating common
       ? .cvsignore

Could you then try to ask CVS people (e.g. on gnu.cvs.bug) whether such
output is normal ? To me, it looks like a CVS bug.

You are right. The contents of the buffer " *cvs-tmp*" is
? forms
? common/.cvsignore
? dm-adidas/.cvsignore
? dm-common/.cvsignore
? dm-common/reports.log
-f server: Updating .
A test_search_n_replace.p2s
-f server: Updating common
-f server: Updating dm-adidas
-f server: Updating dm-common
-f server: Updating forms

I switch the CVS server to a Linux box (cvs 1.11p1) and I have a normal
result ....
Problems come from the cvs 1.11.5 package for HP-UX (and 1.10.8 and 1.11, I
tried the 3 ones) when using :pserver access method.
Was working fine for years with :server
Anyway, just another reason to get rid of that HP-UX box ...

Jérôme
