LibXft is specialised on treating =20 fonts. It can't have an impact on the look of buttons. Linux and =20 other UNICES have commands similiar to Mac OS X's otool that can =20 reveal which libraries a particular programme needs, ldd for example. =20= This might help also. My self-compiled GNU Emacsen for X11 use in Mac OS X these libraries: /sw/lib/libgif.4.dylib (compatibility version 6.0.0, current = version =20 6.4.0) /sw/lib/libjpeg.62.dylib (compatibility version 63.0.0, current =20= version 63.0.0) /sw/lib/libpng.3.dylib (compatibility version 16.0.0, current =20= version 16.0.0) /sw/lib/libtiff.3.dylib (compatibility version 12.0.0, current =20= version 12.2.0) /sw/lib/libXaw3d.7.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current =20= version 7.0.0) /sw/lib/ncurses/libncurses.5.dylib (compatibility version 5.0.0, = =20 current version 5.0.0) /usr/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current =20= version 1.0.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current = =20 version 88.1.7) /usr/lib/libz.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current = version =20 1.2.3) /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.3.0, = current =20 version 6.3.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.0.0, = current =20 version 6.0.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.2.0, = current =20 version 6.2.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.4.0, = current =20 version 6.4.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.2.0, = current =20 version 6.2.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.4.dylib (compatibility version 4.11.0, = current =20 version 4.11.0) /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.6.dylib (compatibility version 6.0.0, = current =20 version 6.0.0) Using libXft leads (led) to a high CPU load (for Unicode Emacs =20 23.0.0, where this configure option exists). I have the typical =20 libXaw3d look for buttons and scroll-bars, but no 3D mode-line. This =20 can be due to some customisation, because launching GNU Emacs with -Q =20= shows some 3D effect. -- Greetings Pete To most people solutions mean finding the answers. But to chemists =20 solutions are things that are still all mixed up.
