Hi,
I don't often use "nnir" but IIRC A-T was switching to the real group, and
A-W should do it also, if this is true, we have a bug.
If I am wrong just ignore this.

I just verify with Emacs-24.2.1 and yes, A-T switch to real group.
This bug affect also 24.3.50.1.

Are A T and A W still bound to the same commands?
Do they do nothing? Give an error?
Can you edebug it and find out where it goes wrong?

A T runs the command gnus-summary-refer-thread
A W runs the command gnus-warp-to-article

No more time to dig now, but looks like the bug is in
`gnus-warp-to-article', when I eval the definition of 24.2.1, it works
as expected.
