One really neat application of Joakim's work on XWidget support is that we can now show PDFs using pdf.js (Apache 2 licensed) as an alternative to rendering each page to a PNG via DocView; it makes both the initial display, and zooming, a lot faster.
There are issues with scrolling (Joakim, ideas?) but the result still looks very good. To try it, run
(xwidget-webkit-browse-url "https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html" nil)
Cheers,
Clément.
