Ah, sorry, my times were for master. For emacs-25, 'make check' takes 
2.7 minutes, 'make -j4 check' takes 1.5 minutes. These times assume the 
test .el files are already built. For me this is merely annoyingly slow, 
not "let's skip the tests" slow like on master.
