Well, in that case, I disagree. > It works fine on the wiki. It has now 731 pages, and managed to get > lots of hits: The number of hits is not the only criterion of the quality. Nor is it certain that the goals of the Emacs page and the wiki are comparable. > I never voluntered for the Emacs page on gnu.org because that means > responsability and work I'm afraid that without a responsible person (or a group of persons) who would volunteer to invest the effort, the quality would suffer. I don't believe in work without responsibility. In fact, I believe that if a person doesn't accept responsibility for her work, she shouldn't be allowed to do that work. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned... Anyway, this is all IMHO; I'm not the head maintainer for Emacs, so there are others you could try to convince. I'll happily relinquish my duties of taking care of the Emacs Web page as far as my time allows. I only took it upon myself because no one else volunteered, and because the grave problems could be fixed by a small amount of work, an amount I could afford. _______________________________________________ Bug-gnu-emacs mailing list Bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnu-emacs
