I've written a bunch of tests myself, and ISTR at least one bug being caught later when these tests failed, although I can't dig up the email right now. One thing that would help is making automated testing results more prominent. It'd be nice to direct build failure messages from emacs-buildstatus to somewhere more prominent (like bug-gnu-emacs) where we can treat a build break or test failure like any other bug. It'll produce a lot of noise at first, but it'd be worth it, IMHO. Setting up Windows, DOS, OS X, etc. builds would help too, but that's more SHTDI work. --b67rXWewlhEBjAUBQ4Q01cxsM0cTagqBI Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.14 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJTI2HAAAoJEMAaIROpHW7IIOsP/j+iES4SS0P+gQ1+4FA8PFWD EUi7kpaxcyddFY1yLubeixnQTcDrhtpvqHwqg3FWDlkwZa5K1TtUELs0EZwtk/VB pLQgcLwmfmXvv+xQb402VO9DcxpDbTqFrT12Cn9MkhFtJY3VAUOUOpo7lXH5xtnY biIHIxx2o9ZMRLC8XsYRGyAEz8GAL0ZEzZP9Sv8DtabByMjcNtIVhWa1h4eWdStT S8XI2IMHuYutkKWhU3+JWKq3qsQhYukTACQ1oI+6CG6mllFh+HZIPAqp9nUgCAvM 4jQF1dFgfh06SgP0eeatDvD+3tSxUsExllhqFriMUYPNtv+J9XgI1pkrJhFK0pK0 thrVhzhk9MDd61UQFSha7VobO66BxQVwbW45+lPxV+jAzzrZ5zaOfCqFPNERYBz6 X0CZffDqIrWG2vKerd2RkV2dTqOSMlH89PXW6cfXVyouPvwRjjl7oq7sLWo9jOmK EjGD+zMAEmJBBV5DYi2VHcNAOGPGFSYGFl1U/YilUX4EHT4T9sKKn+eOSs5PDZoO SVpPU7GqbGdLkxy7wePw2HxuzabDcaLsMOrbQCmFH7q3Kz8qkO0ngdcvCKZWumk5 vlGefc2qGNY9X2D37kuYR6WkcbZGLfbx1sJsLiZrp/LmXCLnOhVMVdac2GnwTPbc kLV2eVNxTHGLwDS7dOEw =yKWR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --b67rXWewlhEBjAUBQ4Q01cxsM0cTagqBI--
