It would help Emacs Lisp beginners and others too, if argument types are documented.
For example when it's said
;;;;;;
add-to-list is a compiled Lisp function in `subr.el'.
(add-to-list LIST-VAR ELEMENT &optional APPEND COMPARE-FN)
;;;;;;
would expected down there something like
LIST-VAR - quoted symbol
ELEMENT - any emacs-lisp-type
APPEND - boolean
COMPARE-FN - quoted function
