Out of curiosity I tried the patch described here http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2013-06/msg01031.html with trunk r. 113178, and it looks good! It needs only to save also the frame size. Indeed if one divides the frame in four "window" of different size, usually this is done with a maximized frame size. Instead, restarting Emacs, it uses a default frame size in which the four "window" are too compressed. Obviously re-maximize the frame is low cost... :-) Thanks! Very good work! Ciao, Angelo.
