Problem with file completion with Emacs 24.1 on Windows

Hi,

I have installed Emacs 24 on Windows 7 box from 
http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/windows/emacs-20120430-r108062-bin-i386.zip.
The version shows "GNU Emacs 24.1.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt6.1.7601) of 
2012-04-30 on MARVIN".

Sometimes, the file completion with

C-x C-f <type partial name> TAB

does not work. The message buffer says

Making completion list... [2 times]
Assertion failed: (string-prefix-p prefix completion)


Typing more characters helps, but it may stuck again at the next expansion.
Please help.

24.1.50.1 != 24.1

24.1.50.1 means "development code for 24.2".

When finding new problems in development code, please
just M-x report-emacs-bug.
In this case, waiting will fix the problem.

This may be related to 2 bugs I filed against recent changes in
file-name completion on MS-Windows, 11348 and 11349.  I hope they will
be fixed soon.
