This used to be in (elisp) `Coding Conventions' but was apparently removed for
Emacs 24:
* Please keep the names of your Emacs Lisp source files to 13
characters or less. This way, if the files are compiled, the
compiled files' names will be 14 characters or less, which is
short enough to fit on all kinds of Unix systems.
Why was it removed? Does mean that there is now *no limit* and no suggested max
for a Lisp library file name?
I cannot find anything about this change to Lisp coding conventions in NEWS, but
perhaps I'm not searching for it well enough. What's the story about this?
