* Bootstrap failure [linux]

Current trunk (rev. 100417) fails to bootstrap on GNU/Linux Kubuntu 
10.04 (GCC 4.4.3) with:

Sorry, my bad.  Should be fixed now.

That's a misfeature of your system headers and/or of the version of
GCC you are using.  (Did you per chance used -Wall?)  FWIW, I see no
such warnings with GCC 4.2.4.

On Kubuntu 10.04 GCC is 4.4.3 and I do not use -Wall... Basically the 
build is : configure, make... Perhaps GCC 4.4.3 is too severe :-)
