Subject: bug#11726: 24.1; `C-x C-q' should say that the buffer is now read only or writable
Date: Sat, 16 Jun 2012 16:07:42 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <4AD2AA78BD354EB6B48381EC0C0B3CD0@us.oracle.com> (raw)
Subject line says it all. Yes, the mode line tells you the new status,
but it is common courtesy for a mode toggle to announce the new state
with a message. Newbies, in particular, can benefit from such a
message, not necessarily noticing or understanding the mode-line symbol
change.
In GNU Emacs 24.1.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
of 2012-06-10 on MARVIN
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
