I am going to "rename" some files (newsticker -> feedreader). What should
I do with the arch-tag lines? Remove? Re-create? (How??) Nothing?

The general rule with arch tags is: ignore them
Don't delete them
Don't change them
Don't add them

Nothing. That is what they are there for.
Because the tag is the same for the file with the old name, and the file
with the new name, Arch will detect that a rename occurred.
Not to confuse you but, if instead you were "copying" a file --
newsticker would still exist but now a very similar otherticker file,
then you would want a new tag in otherticker.
