Just transfering files

I know how to edit a remote file with Emacs. But if I just want to 
transfer a file (up or down), is there an easy way to do that from 
within Emacs? Can I use the same filename syntax as in tramp or ange-ftp?

I am beginning to realize that this can probably be done by just using 
`copy-file' and the relevant remote and local file names. (At least in 
CVS Emacs.)

You can use eshell with tramp enabled:

  cp some-file /ftp:user@site.com:remote-file

another cool thing is to:

  cd /ftp:user@site.com:

and look around :)  A bit slow, but it works.
