it actually seems to be an interaction problem emacs <---> Windomanager

if found out that the vertical position from frameparameters needs an 
adustment
of
-24
indipendent of the horizontal shift

but if it's repeated fast, e.g. with

(setq n 5)
(while (> (setq n (1- n)) 0 )
 (progn
  (setq fpx (cdr (assoc 'left (frame-parameters))))
  (setq fpy (cdr (assoc 'top  (frame-parameters))))
  (setq fpx (+ 1 fpx))

     (set-frame-position (next-frame) fpx (- fpy 24))

 )
)
 
then the -24 are wrong

I am running thaf in KDE 3.2.1, SusSE Linux 9.1, SMP Kernel ( Tyan Tiger 
Board with 2 processors )
