I did run top to try to understand what's up with my emacs. I came to the conclusion that what makes it grow is exactly the thing I want to use this old notebook for; that is, Japanese and Asian text processing with Unicode. The top results are online[1]. Later I'll try anthy instead of quail-japanese, but my guess is that it won't help too much. So I found an old EDO module in our equivalent to Ebay to increase my laptop's memory. 70MiB should be more than enough for shikigami to edit Japanese text files. As for QEmacs, I couldn't even compile it :) References: [1] http://leoboiko.8x.com.br/misc/emacs-top -- Leonardo Boiko --------------enigF47CD1500573B60B6808B963 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCKMqizse6kja2B7QRAuY+AJ0dMSCtrE3I400v1CZKB7Rrx/zh8ACgi1v2 AwD5PP9P3KZAeEmecp2oOGg= =JpZ9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enigF47CD1500573B60B6808B963-- --===============1325044202== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ Help-gnu-emacs mailing list Help-gnu-emacs@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-gnu-emacs --===============1325044202==--
