Or you can just split this into several questions, to be considered separately: 1. Lisp comments; possibly also comments in .c files 2. Commit messages 3. Plain text files FTR, I'm only talking about (1) here. We don't have any special support for highlighting or otherwise working with symbol references in (2) and (3), so '...' syntax doesn't hurt.
