Hi,
with a multiply split emacs window, is it possible to (pre)set one
specific sub-window such that it will display all 'temporary' output
from things like grep (M-g) and similar ?
I find myself constantly restoring the content of windows which have
unexpectedly taken the output of such commands - which is very
distracting.
Thanks for your help,
wb

I've stumbled upon this package:
http://nschum.de/src/emacs/split-root/
Hope it helps.
