using shell mode for router sessions

using shell mode for router sessions

folks,

when you telnet to router in a shell session from emacs,
does anyone know how to get back to telnet prompt?

in a regular xterm session typing ctrl-] would bring you
back - but in emacs sessions, i have been unable to do that.

any url or other resources for the tips of this sort?
