hi!
ok. i am honest. i am nearly a perfect newbie so here is my newbie question:
i just downloaded the source for emacs 21.2 and now i would like to compile it so i
can use it.
another bad message: i am using windows 98. at the moment there is no other
possibility for me so please help me anyway.
i hope you know how desperate i am.

You could compile it using MSYS and mingw32, but frankly, if you are
a newbie, why don't you use a precompiled version of 21.2 or 21.3?
Compiling yourself should only be necessary for developer versions.

There are precompiled versions for Windows:

If you are a "perfect newbie", would it make more sense to
just download the precompiled binaries?
