That's another pointless reply... you still have not offered
any substantial help - e.g. suggestion for compiler switches,
small modification at the source level, etc.
FWIW, I had tried both "-D_BSD_SOURCE" (the default)
and also "-D_GNU_SOURCE -D_BSD_SOURCE" (how the redhat
4.x rpm was built). Both binaries work happily with "-nw" inside
an xterm and seg-fault under X.
