unicode with emacs

unicode with emacs

Hi,

I need to be able to edit unicode files with emacs.

Can anyone point me to a step-by-step howto to set up emacs to do this?

I am trying to edit xml files with unicode if that makes a difference.

Here's what I do: C-x RET c utf-8 RET C-x C-f /path/to/utf8-file

That helped. It turns out that a file saved as unicode in notepad is 
mule-utf-16-le-dos.
