If people are unfamiliar with `delete-selection-mode' and do not want to make it the default behavior, fine. But please do not mess with the behavior of `delete-selection-mode'. It does not need to be "fixed". If you don't like it, then don't use it. If you don't want it to be the default, then don't make it the default. But leave it alone, at least, for those of us who appreciate it.
