I tried to find a package for XEmacs containing 'url', but no such luck. Perhaps someone
can make a recommendation ?

this was because of a dependency on url.el.

If pull the current git version, the problem should be gone. url.el is not
used anymore (see commit 1c9d7a6d73fa4d9e5747f0d01ade87dc2a77dead,
current head).
