But the second one (which seems a reasonable fix) makes Emacs unable to display any non-western characters.
- if ([fkeys count] > 0)
- matchingDescs = [fdesc matchingFontDescriptorsWithMandatoryKeys: fkeys];
- else
- matchingDescs = [NSMutableArray array];
