I use an assortment of computers and OS's, some throw this error and some do not. Emacs 24.2 for Windows does not throw an error (yay!) Emacs 24.x.y via Homebrew may throw this error (boo!) Where x = ? Where "may throw" means what? It sometimes does and sometimes doesn't? Please give the full details, otherwise this is going to go nowhere.
