Subject: bug#19649: 24.4; OPascal Mode Incorrect Backslash String Parsing
Date: Wed, 21 Jan 2015 14:31:55 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <2015121143155.666675@A6> (raw)

OPascal mode incorrectly parses strings where the last string character ends in a
backslash; e.g.

a:='This is a string\' ;

(Parsing fails to note the end of the string and the following chunk of buffer is all
assigned string constant face.)

The backslash is treated as an escape character, which it is not in Object Pascal. My
work around is to add the following to an opascal-mode-hook function:

  (modify-syntax-entry ?\\ ".")

The preferred fix would of course to be to make a similar change to the
opascal-mode-syntax-table initialization in opascal.el.
