and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I was typing a reply to a USENET post and had just pasted in some text
from google (via Mozilla 0.9.9) and emacs dumped core.  Here is a gdb
backtrace from the core dump:

Please forgive the delay in my responding to you.  Mail is very heavy.
I was hoping someone else would handle this.

It is not feasible to debug a core dump from another user's machine--the
only way to investigate is if you run a debugger.  Can you possibly
investigate the immediate causes of the crash?  What data was invalid?

The file etc/DEBUG gives some advice on debugging Emacs, but you might
want to look at the GDB manual too.

open two files side by side using c-x-3.
Click on the vertical bar that separates the two windows, and try to
resize the windows. This creates core dump
