Subject: viper undo problem
Date: Tue, 7 Mar 2006 09:14:28 -0800 (PST)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20060307171428.16363.qmail@web60315.mail.yahoo.com> (raw)

The behavior of Viper when doing undo's (viper-undo or key u) and
repeated undo's/redo's seems to have changed in version 22.0.50.1,
compared with earlier versions (e.g, 21.3). I would (will) file a bug
report but since I cannot tell what triggers the behavior I want to see
if other viper users have experienced this as well. The problem is
that undo's intermittently cause the buffer to go to the top. In other
words, the last change is un-done but the buffer view is shifted to the
top (instead of staying on the page where the change took place). This
is intermittent and I cannot figure out what triggers it. It is
extremely annoying. I like to be able to see what is changed when
doing an undo and often just do two "u"'s in a row to undo the last
change and then undo the undo. But when it gets in this mode the
buffer stays at the top and I cannot see what is being done. I hope
this makes sense and sorry for being so long winded but I really hope
this can be fixed for the upcoming release. I should also note that
this only happens after editing for a bit and I've been able to
reproduce it with no init file, so I do not think its from my settings.

Has anyone else seen this and/or have any idea what is going on?

Thanks,
Bob
