Hi. I have been trying to track down a copy-paste problem in Emacs, documented in Debian bug #144806: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=144806 In a nutshell, an accented character is pasted in the "Non-Standard Character Set Encodings" format, e.g. "é" is pasted as "^[%/1\200\214iso8859-15^Bé". I have seen earlier discussion on bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org about this back in 2001: From: Karl Eichwalder Subject: Cut from xterm (iso-8859-{2,15}) and paste into buffer Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 21:05:55 +0100 http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnu-emacs/2001-11/msg00552.html However, I couldn't find any conclusion on this issue. Has there been further discussion? Regards, Hugo -- Hugo Haas - http://larve.net/people/hugo/
