Subject: comint-interrupt-subjob broken (solaris, version dependent)
Date: Sat, 29 Mar 2003 20:05:25 +0100 (CET) [thread overview]
Message-ID: <200303291905.h2TJ5Pek014658@mt3.gfz-potsdam.de> (raw)
This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.
Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
'comint-interrupt-subjob' does never worked for
Solaris 9 and, _after_ installing all Solaris patches,
is broken now for our Solaris 8 boxes too.
*Before*
applying the patches 'C-c C-c' works fine
on the solaris 8 boxes!
As far as I can
see, 'comint-interrupt-subjob' is still
working on fully patched Solaris 2.7 and
Solaris 2.6 boxes (with the same configuration), but
broken for sol8 and 9 independently
from the version (20.7/21.2) or the
op-sys-version (2.7,8,9) it's build for
(if it is running anyhow...).
so I first guessed, that this is an op-sys
problem -- but the 'comint-interrupt-subjob'
function in 'XEmacs' remains intact!
This broken 'comint-interrupt-subjob'
affects the normal shell
(M-x shell) and other modes running subjobs,
like IDLwave mode, Gnu-R or Octave...
-- and this is quite annoying.
any hint -- any hope?
