Is there a particular reason why emacs-23.2.tar.bz2 on http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/ hasn't been updated? Also, it would have been much cleaner if the updated tarballs hadn't been replaced on-the-fly, but been released under a new name, like emacs-23.3a.tar.bz2, in order to avoid confusion. (For example, Gentoo as a source-based distro does file integrity checks based on SHA256 checksums. I've now updated the checksums for the Emacs tarballs, but of course the check will now fail if the user downloads the old version of the tarball from a mirror. There's no good way to distinguish old and new before downloading the file.) Ulrich
