Yes, that worked for me too. But as you say, it's terribly buggy. When I open up a few buffers and click on a tab, the tab rarely opens up the buffer it's supposed to. Well, I hope someone will be interested in working on this in the future, because I would love to have this feature. I'm not a programmer, so I can't offer my own help.
