Thanks for the help, all...added /usr/local/bin to root's pathway, then
for good measure set up a symbolic link in usr/bin to
/usr/local/bin/emacs. Now, all I have to do is get the spiffy colors that
appear when emacs is activated as root to appear when emacs is activated
as user! But that's another story...
