Crash when opening multiple windows

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

If a user opens a new frame, and then attempts to open a new file in the
new frame, emacs crashes.  The emacs we are running was installed from a
precompiled distribution available from SGI (freeware.sgi.com).

Does it help to set the environment variable LD_BIND_NOW to 1 before
you start Emacs?

Would you like to build the latest version from CVS and see if the
bug still occurs?
