C-x ^ runs the command enlarge-window

OK, but all that hard work is wiped out by say, a simple Help query

C-x 2 C-x ^ C-x ^ C-x ^ C-h k x C-h l

or even a simple C-x C-b.

By the way, there is no command to swap windows, make the top one the
bottom, in case somebody wants to.

That is true. Do you have a specific proposal for what to do instead?
That is the hard part of the problem.

I don't know, champ. All I know is it didn't use to be as fleeting,
otherwise is wouldn't have been presented to users way back when.

[I gets to call him champ! Also Supercite needs to be hipped to the
RMS bland quotation style so it won't put my words in his mouth.]

Luc> Dear Dan,

Luc> Did you try to set even-window-heights to nil?

No. Interesting.

Luc> Luc Teirlinck.

That makes you smarter than RMS, who apparently didn't know about that
as well.

So I suppose even-window-heights should be mentioned everywhere
enlarge-window is mentioned, especially when one does C-h k C-x ^
