remote file access with ssh/ftp

remote file access with ssh/ftp

Hello,

To edit remote files, I need to connect from home to a machine using ssh
and then to
the machine with the files. The machine with the files as a working ftp
program.

Does anyone know of a package that does this or a direction to point me in?

Try a program called tramp.el
ftp://ls6-ftp.cs.uni-dortmund.de/pub/src/emacs/
