However, rather than patching, it's probably easier to add to your .emacs: (eval-after-load "f90" '(setq f90-type-def-re "\\<\\(type\\)\\>\\(?:\\(?:[^()\n]*\\|\ .*,[ \t]*bind[ \t]*([ \t]*c[ \t]*)[ \t]*\\)::\\)?[ \t]*\\(\\sw+\\)")) which should have the same effect.
