Subject: MH-E 7.85 released
Date: Fri, 14 Oct 2005 18:03:24 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <18773.1129338204@olgas.newt.com> (raw)

[Now that MH-E is incorporated in CVS Emacs, perhaps these notes are no
longer necessary. Please let me know if you want me to continue or not.]

MH-E is the Emacs interface to the MH mail system. It offers all the
functionality of MH, the visual orientation and simplicity of use of a
GUI, and full integration with Emacs and XEmacs, including thorough
configuration and online help. Read on for more details.

Project home page at: http://mh-e.sourceforge.net/.

* Changes in MH-E 7.85

Version 7.85 heralds a migration of the CVS repository from SourceForge
to Savannah only for those files that were already part of Emacs. As a
result, two incompatibilities were introduced with this release: the
location of MH-E in the load-path has changed, and mh-e-autoloads.el was
renamed to mh-autoloads.el. [These issues do not impact users of CVS
Emacs whatsover. --bw] While this migration will benefit maintainers, it
will also benefit users: CVS Emacs users will not have to check out MH-E
separately and welcome faster MH-E updates, and CVS MH-E users will
welcome faster MH-E updates from Emacs developers. Read section CVS MH-E
INSTALL in the README for details. [This file is in the SourceForge MH-E
release and is not needed for users of MH-E in CVS Emacs. --bw]

MH-E now works on a Mac. See section INSTALL in the README for details.

** Bug Fixes in MH-E 7.85

*** Prompts Now Follow Current Conventions

Instead of "Prompt: [<default>] ", the prompts now look like "Prompt
(default: <default>): ".

*** Face Variable Names Now Follow Current Conventions

The -face suffix has been dropped from all face names.

*** mh-compose-forward and Default Message Number

mh-compose-forward will now default to the sent message in the sent
folder and the `cur' message in other folders. It also takes ranges of
messages and can include multiple messages at a time (closes SF
#1205890).

*** mh-customize Uses Group mh, Not mh-e

The `mh' customization group alias has been deleted to avoid some
problems that were found (closes SF #1213716).

*** font-lock Error in mh-letter-mode

An error in MH-E was introduced as a result of a change in CVS Emacs.
This has been fixed (closes SF #1241017).
