That's great. You might want to take a look at
the behavior (UI, customization possibilities etc.)
provided in character-fold+.el. Maybe your fix
could incorporate some of that, if helpful.
(Haven't looked at it. Just suggesting you maybe
take a look, if you haven't already.)
