I can get 22.whatever of the latest CVS builds, but I dislike using CVS binaries; you're never quite sure how stable they are. I suppose I could build 21.4 from source, but I admit that that prospect isn't super-exciting to me. Any direction? Thanks, JS ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

Emacs 22 is in late beta-test and very stable. The binaries that are uploaded are nearly always fine to use. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

I had trouble finding Win32 binaries for version 22, so I'll give you a link: http://ntemacs.sourceforge.net/ Matthew Flaschen [-- Attachment #1.2: OpenPGP digital signature --] [-- Type: application/pgp-signature, Size: 254 bytes --] [-- Attachment #2: Type: text/plain, Size: 152 bytes --] _______________________________________________ help-gnu-emacs mailing list help-gnu-emacs@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-gnu-emacs ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

Any package that works on 21.4 will work on 21.3. Unless it specifically checks for 21.4, but that would be very silly. The differences between 21.3 and 21.4 were: one-line fix in movemail. That's it. So if you're not using movemail with "a malicious POP server", there's zero difference between 21.3 and 21.4. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

So if you're not using movemail with "a malicious POP > server", there's zero difference between 21.3 and 21.4. I've been using GNU Emacs 22.0.92.1 (from http://ourcomments.org/Emacs/EmacsW32.html) for months now and haven't noticed any unstability.
