Hi;

I have been using emacs for two years now and have got quite comfortable
with it.  As I watch this list there are several questions regarding
compiling versions of emacs.  With all the excellent packaging that is
being done these days; Why would people still be compiling emacs on
their own?  Just curious.

Many people use Emacs from CVS...

As with other software.  Tweak some compile time options
(usually disable useless "features").
