Dear GNU:
I am writing lengthy physics program in Fortran 95. Is there a way to display
the line numbers in a column to the left? An option for this exists in
the rival editor NEDIT.

There is no official mode for this, but Kyle Jones wrote a mode that
does the job. setnu.el.
