To me, "adaptive-wrap" doesn't imply that its effects are only visual--rather, it seems to suggest that it wraps text based on some kind of adaptive criteria. "visual-wrap" would seem like a natural counterpart to "visual-line-mode", implying that its effects are only visual in nature, leaving the underlying contents unchanged (which matches the package's description). Just my two cents before the package is merged.
