M-x set-frame-font TAB TAB produces a large *Completions* buffer with
fonts GNU Emacs "sees." It's also possible to evaluate
(x-list-fonts "*-inconsolata-*")
in *scratch* buffer. I found a line
(font . "-adobe-courier-medium-r-*-11-*-iso10646-1")
– and it still works!
