Duplication of frame parameters is only one of the symptoms mentioned, and it might not even be responsible for the obvious, visual problems I reported. See also bug #1562 (aka #119) - possibly it's related (dunno). For that bug, the bug occurs in the C code of `modify-frame-parameters'.
