Subject: 23.0.60; ediff-buffers: wrong default buffers
Date: Sun, 8 Jun 2008 10:14:35 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <002401c8c98b$2020b270$0200a8c0@us.oracle.com> (raw)

emacs -Q

Using C-x 5 f, open three different files, say, a, b, c, in separate
frames. Click in one frame, say a, then in another, say b. M-x
ediff-buffers - see which buffers are proposed as the defaults.

Previously, the behavior was to use the two buffers you last clicked
(e.g. accessed) as the default buffers. This seems to still be the
behavior if you open the files in different windows of the same
frame. That is the correct behavior. But this behavior is now broken,
at least when the buffers are in different frames.

If you don't see it right away, try clicking a different pair of
buffers, say a and c or b and c. Your clicking action does not seem to
affect the buffers that are proposed as defaults.

This is quite annoying. It used to be possible to just click in two
buffers to have them used by ediff-buffers - very quick.

Dunno if this is a problem with ediff-buffers or some more basic
function (e.g. `other-buffer' or the list of accessed buffers per
frame). Whatever it is, it is annoying.
